Oscar favourites and not so favourites

Loves: Carey Mulligan in Prada, Merryl Streep in Chris March, Vera Farmiga in that fuschia (!) Marchesa gown, Demi Moore in Versace, Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive (the same cannot be said for J.Lo, who--in another dress from the collection--looked like she was swathed in bubble wrap), and GASP, Posh Spice in her own design!

For the most part, there weren't any disastrous dresses. There was J.Lo as I have already mentioned, SJP's dress that looked amazing from the front but the bizarre placement of the jewels beneath her bum on the rear was off, and even though she was the belle of the ball, Ms. Bigelow's gown was a do-not-want snoozefest. But as I said, even the bad ones weren't that disastrous.

Most tragic however, just because of how much potential was here, was this:

Oh Zoe! As the Fug Girls often like to say, this is one of those scroll down horrors. I absolutely love the bejeweled bodice, but what the hell is going on with the ruffles at the bottom? It makes me think someone murdered a muppet and decided to attach its skin to an otherwise lovely dress. No?
